Introduction
As a classic antioxidant, vitamin E (tocopherol) delays oxidative damage to the skin by neutralizing free radicals and enhances light protection in synergy with sunscreen. Its oily texture is suitable for dry skin or winter formulas, and forms a soft film after absorption. Short-term use can brighten dullness, and long-term use can improve wrinkles and repair the barrier. - The EU SCCS recommends that the amount of leave-on products added is: ≤10%.
- Too high a content may cause acne or oily film. ≥0.5% can significantly improve the antioxidant properties.
- Avoid direct mixing with strong acids (if the acid is >10%) and high-concentration retinol (>0.3%), as this may cause inactivation.
